Teen Literature Weekly Class
Our Teen Literature class is a course designed to immerse students in the world of literature written for and about teenagers.
This class has no lectures and is based on discussion prompts presented by the instructor.
While students only homework is the assigned reading, they should come prepared to discuss the reading aloud or through our meeting chat.
In addition to reading and discussing texts, students will critically analyze and reflect through rotating literature roles, assignments, and class discussions. They will learn to analyze literary techniques such as characterization, symbolism, and theme and apply these skills to their writing. The class will also explore the role of literature in society and how it reflects and shapes cultural norms and values.
Overall, the Teen Literature class allows students to explore and appreciate the richness and diversity of literature written for and about their age group. This course encourages critical thinking, creativity, and empathy and provides a safe and supportive space for students to express their thoughts and ideas.
Discover how easy it is to encourage your teen to read for fun. They won’t even mind that this class counts as school.
